Google Gmail and Gmail Notifier
Google came up with Beta of GMAIL, its email service. Thanks to my friend Abdul, I got a mail ID some time back. One of the great thinks about Gmail has been ease of usability and huge space it provides (1000MB).
I got the following link for the Gmail Notifier which is a Windows application that alerts you when you have new Gmail messages.
Too cool an app....those of you using Gmail, check this out...

Windows XP update and Macromedia
Microsoft released the new Windows XP Service Pack 2 few days back. The SP2 is quite an update (almost 260MB) and offers WinXP to a host of new security and performance updates.
There was a new article posted on the Macromedia Developer Center on the new changes in Windows XP SP2 and how some of them relate to Macromedia. Definately worth a look if you are working on Flash or other Macromedia products with WinXP.

Have you updated to Flash MX 2004 7.2 ?
I know of a lot of people have already updated to 7.2 and I wonder if they are feeling better!! I mean, the first time I saw the update, the fact that the update was of over 66MB scared me more than anything....after a while I was like "Thank god, they got the software completed ;o)".
Having said that, I know a lot of developers and from posts on Macromedia Forum about some of the issues not fixed. Have you guys encountered any of them yet?
Congratulations and Best of Luck, Abdul !
A good friend, Abdul Qabiz (www.abdulqabiz.com) who was working with Tata Interactive Systems, Mumbai just left his job and joined Macromedia development center in Bangalore.
I knew Abdul just through the Flash blogs and posts till I met him at the MAX conference which happenend sometime in March'04 in New Delhi. He had flown in from Mumbai with one of his friends, Rahul. It was a pleasure meeting and talking to him. We shared a lot of ideas and experiences from our professional lives.
Best of Luck, Abdul. Hope you do a great job as always!!

I don't know how if many people knew this was coming, but I was following some blogs regularly which was talking about this release. Some of the blogs like Flash Team Blog, Mike Chamber's Blog and Mike Downey's Blog had a whole lot of details about the new update and the issues it fixed.
Have updated on Flash 7.2 and hope to see a lot less issues and crashes popping up. Happy Flashing !!
